Raising the state of high alert for the Tajik army after the missile strikes on the border

The army of Tajikistan has been moved to a state of high alert after an incident of rocket fire on the border.

According to the press service of the border forces of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) of Tajikistan, the missiles hit the territory of the republic due to a conflict between radicals and militants of the Islamic State

in Afghanistan. “Taliban structures in the Khoja Ghar district of Takhar province are taking measures to identify and neutralize terrorist groups,” the ministry said.

The State Committee on National Security noted that the situation on the borders of Tajikistan and Afghanistan is calm at the moment.

Earlier, it became known that unknown militants fired seven missiles at the Tajik-Afghan border, and then fled. The Tajik army returned fire, and the attackers’ car caught fire and those inside died, Sputnik reported.
