British Defense Secretary announces purchase of Russian weapons for Ukraine

British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said his country is buying Soviet and Russian weapons around the world in order to transfer them to Ukraine.

According to him, 23 countries have stocks of Russian equipment. As Wallace pointed out, the Ukrainian army might need Soviet weapons, because they knew how to deal with them.

“A large portion of the Department of Defense and military attaches are looking for weapons all over the world,” he said.

Earlier, Andrei Sepiga, deputy head of Volodymyr Zelensky’s office, said the UK had agreed to help Ukraine rebuild Kyiv and the Kiev region.

Before that, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called on the partner countries of the state to “take care” of their regions, cities and regions for their restoration.

He also noted that the Ukrainian authorities were already preparing a “large-scale recovery plan” for the country and needed strategic international support.

By his estimate, the country’s restoration will require at least 600 billion dollars, which will be allocated to the restoration of “infrastructure facilities, residential areas, and institutions.”
