$17.5 billion volume of trade exchange between Russia and India in the first quarter

New Delhi, May 20 / WAM / The volume of trade exchange between Russia and India in the first quarter of this year reached a record high of $17.5 billion, and trade exchange between the two countries exceeded $50 billion for the first time.
The “Russia Today” website quoted the Indian Ministry of Industry and Trade as saying that Russian-Indian trade recorded a growth of 5 percent on an annual basis, and the previous increase was $17 billion in the second quarter of last year.
Russia exported goods worth $16.3 billion to India in the first quarter, compared to $15.6 billion in the previous year.
Indian goods exports to Russia from January to March also rose by 22 per cent to $1.2 billion.
Russia is the second major supplier of goods to India, after China, with supplies worth $24.8 billion.
