The Arab League celebrates Intellectual Property Day tomorrow
The Intellectual Property and Competitiveness Unit of the League of Arab States celebrates World Intellectual Property Day under the slogan “ Intellectual Property and Sustainable Development Goals: Building our common future with innovation and creativity, tomorrow 29 May at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo.
The theme of this year’s celebration aims to enhance the use of the intellectual property system to achieve a sustainable future in all around the world, as well as finding ways to confront challenges to achieve sustainable development goals.
Minister Plenipotentiary Dr. Maha Bakhit, Director of the Legal Affairs Department and the Intellectual Property and Competitiveness Unit at the League of Arab States, said that this annual celebration is considered a platform for presenting common experiences among all participating countries and a forum for dialogue and discussion on various intellectual property issues.
The celebration will include several working sessions discussing several topics aimed at discussing the use of intellectual property as a tool to promote sustainable development, and the role of innovation systems, industrial property and artificial intelligence in supporting sustainable development goals, presented by a number of experts and specialists in the field of intellectual property, and the best experiences and practices from Arab countries.
Government officials from intellectual property offices in Arab countries, experts from the World Intellectual Property Organization, in addition to a number of researchers, jurists, and young inventors will participate in the celebration.
