The White House: Occupying a building on campus is the wrong approach to demonstrating
The White House declared that occupying a campus building was the "wrong approach" In demonstrating against the war in Gaza.
White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby said – according to CNN – that the American president believes that occupying a building On campus forcibly is a completely wrong approach, adding, “This is not an example of peaceful demonstration.”
This came after student demonstrators at Columbia University barricaded themselves inside Hamilton Hall in the academic building on campus, hours after Columbia University officials announced a deadline for the dispersal of the demonstrations.
The student demonstrators confirmed that Columbia University did not respond to their demands that they demanded on April 17 regarding preventing any cooperation with companies that support the war against Gaza.
