Umm Al Quwain Creative Center organizes " Personal Museums Exhibition "

Umm Al Quwain, May 14 / WAM / Today, Sheikh Majid bin Saud Al Mualla, Chairman of the Department of Tourism and Antiquities in Umm Al Quwain, visited the Personal Museums Exhibition, organized by the Creative Center in Umm Al Quwain, in which a number of owners of personal museums interested in preserving heritage and antiquities participated.

Participants displayed a collection of heritage art and archaeological collectibles dating back to different historical eras.

Sheikh Majid toured the exhibition’s sections and began with the section of heritage researcher Rashid Ali Al-Nahim, who displayed 70 pieces of the archaeological collections of his personal museum, which he founded in 1990.

The exhibits include collectibles representing mountain and desert life and tools used in daily life in the past, in addition to displays of old devices such as phones, cameras, televisions and watches.

Sheikh Majid reviewed the participation of Emirati heritage researcher Ahmed Al-Hassawi, who participated with 50 pieces of souvenirs that were provided by Emirates Airlines in the 1990s, which are a collection of precious ceramics from the French city of Limoges that carry images of wildlife and heritage. And archaeological.

The Al-Hasawi group at the exhibition also included a display of miniature models of historical landmarks, including forts, castles, and buildings specific to the UAE. Oil paintings of local and international scenes were displayed, by international painters, highlighting the historical landmarks of the seven emirates, local birds, and wild animals.

During his participation in the exhibition, Emirati researcher and collector Abdullah Al-Mutairi displayed 50 rare pieces of gold-plated silver spoons, some of which date back to the year 1800, along with another group dating back to different eras, characterized by engravings, decorations and symbols, each of which represents the time period and occasion in which it was approved and issued. .

The Department of Tourism and Antiquities in Umm Al Quwain participated in the event by displaying fishing and diving tools, and the most important tools that were used in ancient times to search for pearls.

Sheikh Majid bin Saud honored the participants in the exhibition and praised their efforts in preserving and protecting the cultural heritage and national identity, and their interest in personal museums that reflect the cultural and civilizational development witnessed by Emirati society, in addition to their role in deepening and consolidating the heritage cultural identity of future generations.

The exhibition activities were attended by His Excellency Khaled Omar Al Kharji, Member of the Federal National Council, Her Excellency Mona Rashid Tahnoun, Member of the Federal National Council, and Abdullah Bu Osaiba, Director of the Umm Al Quwain Creative Center, in addition to directors and representatives of government institutions in Umm Al Quwain.
