Clason Point Fire: 2 firefighters seriously injured battling blaze in Bronx
CLASON POINT, Bronx (WABC) — Three firefighters were injured, two of them seriously, while battling a fire in the Clason Point section of the Bronx on Friday afternoon.
The fire quickly engulfed the home on White Plains Road around 3 p.m. Thick black smoke could be seen billowing from the home.
One firefighter was believed to be critical, but that firefighter along with the other injured firefighter are now said to be in serious but stable condition at Jacobi. The third firefighter is stable.
A third firefighter was transferred to an ambulance, possibly due to heat exhaustion or another medical problem.
The fire was brought under control shortly before 5:00 p.m.
