The University of Sharjah organizes an exhibition of student projects " Connection"

Sharjah, April 30 / WAM / Yesterday, the College of Communication at the University of Sharjah, “under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University, organized the sixteenth exhibition of graduation projects by its students under the slogan “Supporting Employment” in the presence of Dr. Hamid Majoul Al Nuaimi, Director of the University of Sharjah. His Excellency Luis Alfonso de Alba, Mexican Ambassador to the UAE.

86 male and female students from various departments and specializations of the college presented more than 45 projects, and the exhibition included four areas through which students’ projects were presented in the specializations of public relations, radio and television, digital media design, and electronic journalism, which are: the awareness area, the innovation area, the solutions area, and the emerging projects area. In cooperation with a number of local and federal departments and bodies in the country, and in partnership with Sharjah Media City (Shams), the Sharjah Radio and Television Authority, and the Sharjah Government Media Office.

The Training and Media Center of the Sharjah Radio and Television Authority also participated in providing a number of training and interactive workshops for students and visitors to the exhibition with the aim of emphasizing the ability of college graduates to work in the various fields of communication and media and their potential to meet the needs of the labor market, in addition to their skills in preparing, implementing and producing communication and media materials. And implementing campaigns and initiatives in various fields.

This year, the exhibition also hosted a pavilion for the Embassy of Mexico to display various aspects of Mexican culture and art as part of a photography exhibition by Mexican artist Salvador Ortega entitled “Mexico in the Open Air.” This was accompanied by a Mexican film festival and a screening of students’ graduation film projects the next day at 06 Mall Cinema City. .

Dr. Hairo Lugo Ocando, Dean of the College of Communication, confirmed that the College seeks, through the “Spark 16” exhibition of student graduation projects, to confirm the readiness of its students to work in the various fields of communication, media and public relations, and to ensure that they acquire the skills of media preparation, planning and production, and to employ modern communication tools in communicating with… The public, and the college is working hard to create job opportunities for students by linking their academic studies and supporting their communication with the labor market with the aim of graduating generations possessing modern and advanced professional capabilities.

His Excellency Luis Alfonso de Alba, Ambassador of Mexico to the UAE, expressed his thanks to the University of Sharjah for hosting as a guest of honor to participate during this exhibition, pointing to the existing cooperation within areas of common interest between the UAE and Mexico in the fields of knowledge, culture and economics, explaining the importance of strengthening this cooperation to benefit Of the mutual relations between the two parties, he also praised the excellence of the projects of the College of Communication students and their efforts in preparing and presenting a variety of graduation projects. He concluded his speech by inviting the audience to visit the Mexico Pavilion at the exhibition to learn about Mexican culture and civilization.

Dr. Angel Garcia Banches gave a presentation on emerging projects and media investment in the age of artificial intelligence, and sponsors, participants and exhibition committees were also honored.

The exhibition was attended by His Excellency Dr. Khalid Omar Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Media City (Shams), and Muhammad Yousef, Director of the Communications and Marketing Department at the Sharjah Radio and Television Authority, along with a number of university vice chancellors, deans of colleges and directors of departments, in addition to the owners of companies and institutions that cooperated with in the exhibition.
