China criticizes Biden’s words on US “leadership” in the Middle East

– Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said that Beijing criticizes US President Joe Biden’s statement that Washington is leading the Middle East.

According to the diplomat, only representatives of the peoples living on their territory can talk about the role of their country in the region.

Commenting on the US President’s statement about the “exceptional position” of the United States, the diplomat noted that the countries of the Middle East are not someone’s “backyard”.

The situation in this area is not very calm now. China is ready, through joint efforts with the international community, to further vigorously promote peace and development in the Middle East.”

Wang Wenbin stressed that the Middle East countries primarily need stability and social and economic growth.

The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs concluded that “the masters of the Middle East are the peoples who live on its lands”.
