14 people were killed and 74 others injured as a result of the collapse of a billboard in India

Mumbai, May 14 / WAM / At least 14 people were killed and 74 others were injured as a result of a huge billboard falling on them during a thunderstorm.

The billboard collapsed on houses and a petrol station next to a busy road in the eastern suburb of Ghatkopar after strong winds and rain late Monday, and rescue operations continued until early Tuesday.

The thunderstorm caused traffic to stop in parts of the city and disrupted operations at its airport, which is one of India’s busiest airports.
