Shukri heads to Banjul to participate on behalf of President Sisi in the 15th session of the Islamic Summit

 

 Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry will head this Friday evening to the city of Banjul, the capital of the Republic of The Gambia. To participate in the fifteenth session of the “Islamic Summit” conference, on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, which will be held tomorrow, Saturday, and the day after tomorrow, Sunday, under the slogan “Promoting unity and solidarity through dialogue for sustainable development.”

The official spokesman and director of the Public Diplomacy Department, Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, stated that the Islamic summit will address the most important political issues of priority on the agenda of Islamic countries, in addition to topics economic development related to accelerating the pace of achieving sustainable development goals, eliminating poverty, and confronting climate change. The summit will also discuss the importance of rejecting hate speech and “Islamophobia.” And enhancing the spirit of dialogue and tolerance between civilizations, cultures and peoples.

 

 

 

The Foreign Ministry spokesman said that the 15th session The Islamic Summit Conference will be held this year under the presidency of Gambia, and it is scheduled to issue a final statement that includes the organization’s positions on the issues on the agenda, and the “Banjul Declaration.” In addition to a resolution on Palestine.

 

 

The spokesman indicated that the Minister of Foreign Affairs will deliver Egypt’s statement on behalf of the President of the Republic, and will also hold a number of meetings. Bilateral relations with his counterparts from the foreign ministers of member states, within the framework of dealing with the course of bilateral relations and consultation on the most important current regional and international issues and challenges.
