The US Defense orders the purchase of 480 MLRS HIMARS systems

The US Department of Defense is considering purchasing 120 to 480 HIMARS Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS). This was reported on the official website of public procurement.

It should be noted that this figure may be enough to create up to 26 new rocket artillery divisions.

In addition, the list of purchases includes all existing modifications of missile ammunition of various ranges of the HIMARS system.

Earlier, John Kirby, Strategic Communications Coordinator at the White House National Security Council, reported that the United States will provide Ukraine this week with a new military assistance package, which will include HIMARS MLRS and ammunition, as well as artillery shells.
