Russia has put the former heads of the Rada, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine on the wanted list

The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has put former high-ranking officials and government figures of Ukraine on the wanted list. Among them are former head of the Verkhovna Rada Vladimir Groysman, former ministers of foreign affairs Pavel Klimkin and interior ministers Arsen Avakov, former head of the National Security and Defense Council Alexei Danilov and former minister of information policy Yuriy Stets. The former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ruslan Khomchak and the ex-head of the anti-terrorist center under the SBU Vasily Krutov were also put on the wanted list.

As usual in such cases, the search database states that they are wanted under an article of the Criminal Code, but does not say under which one. The initiation of criminal cases against the above-mentioned Ukrainian figures has not previously been reported.

A few days ago it became known that the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs had put the current President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky and his predecessor Petro Poroshenko on the wanted list. Most of the figures whose search became known today held high positions during Poroshenko’s presidency until 2019. Only Danilov left his post recently, this year.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, in connection with Zelensky’s wanted list, declared the “despair” of the Russian authorities and recalled the arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin issued by the International Criminal Court in The Hague.

Russian officials have not yet commented on the wanted list of Zelensky and other Ukrainian politicians.
