"Dubai Asset Management" Launches an initiative for sustainable waste management

DUBAI, May 17 / WAM / Dubai Asset Management, which owns and manages one of the largest portfolios of residential complexes for rent in Dubai under the umbrella of Dubai Holding Asset Management, has launched a new initiative aimed at promoting sustainable waste management in its residential complexes.

This initiative contributes to reducing the amount of waste reaching landfills, which reduces environmental risks, and also supports the circular economy, where materials are constantly recycled and used in line with the National Green Agenda – 2030 and the Dubai Urban Plan 2040.

The initiative comes within the framework of the group’s commitment to sustainability and its effective role in advancing environmental change, and focuses on reducing the amount of waste generated by residential complexes and ending up in landfills, by implementing dedicated recycling programs and using innovative technologies to recover energy from public waste.

The initiative was launched with a series of awareness-raising workshops targeting residents of the Shurooq and Al Khail Gate complexes, following the strategic partnership signed by Dubai Asset Management with Tandhif, a subsidiary of Bee’ah Group, last December.

The events included a diverse program of interactive workshops and dialogue sessions for adults, in addition to a group of handicrafts and recycling activities for children, emphasizing the importance of waste sorting and recycling.

The sustainable behavior rewards program will be launched with the distribution of 100 smart containers in the “Shorouk” and “Al Khail Gate” complexes. These containers, manufactured by the UAE-based company “Rene”, use technology supported by blockchain technology to collect basic waste data, and these containers use sensors. And a selective opening mechanism to ensure that plastic and certified materials are accurately recycled.
