Chinese military declares readiness to defend China’s sovereignty –
Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman Wu Qian said the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) intends to firmly uphold China’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity amid Japan’s attempts to escalate tensions in the region by issuing defense reports referring to a “Chinese military threat”.
The representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry noted that the “white paper” on defense, published by the Japanese side, was “full of prejudice.”
The statement said: The Japanese side is trying to spread the theory of the so-called Chinese military threat. This is a serious interference in China’s internal affairs, which contributes to increasing tension in the region. The Chinese army is bent.
“We have the strength and we are confident that we can protect the national sovereignty, security and territorial integrity of our country.”
According to Wu Qian, the Chinese military is protesting strongly against attempts to discredit the country.
He also stressed that the situation in the South China Sea is also mentioned in the Japanese White Paper.
“Japan has nothing to do with issues related to this region. Tokyo’s attempts to destabilize there at the request of the United States are a manifestation of irresponsibility. We demand the Japanese side to stop making false statements and take a responsible attitude.”
Last week, the Japanese Ministry of Defense released the Defense White Paper 2022, an annual report on Japan’s national security. The report argued that a Chinese military operation in Taiwan was likely – while an escalation of the situation, according to the report, could threaten Japan.
