104 illegal entities practicing the activity of selling Hajj and Umrah programs were arrested

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities continues to send expanded inspection committees in several governorates to monitor illegal entities that engage in Umrah and Hajj activities

In light of the supervisory role of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and in continuation of what it is doing Through its efforts to monitor and confront illegal entities that engage in some tourism activities without obtaining a license from the Ministry, including organizing Umrah and Hajj tourism trips, the Ministry, represented by the Central Administration of Tourism Companies, has continued to send intensive and expanded inspection committees to a number of governorates to monitor And controlling illegal entities that engage in Umrah and Hajj activities and sell their programs without obtaining a license from the Ministry, during the peak of the Umrah season and before the start of the Hajj season.

 

This comes within the framework of The Ministry is keen to protect and organize work within the tourism industry in Egypt, tighten follow-up and control of various tourism activities, maintain the quality of services provided to visitors, tourists and Egyptian citizens, and preserve the rights of tourism companies in a way that supports the national economy.

 

For her part, Ms. Samia Samy, Head of the Ministry’s Central Administration for Tourism Companies, indicated that these committees were dispatched to a number of governorates, including Cairo, Alexandria, Giza, Dakahlia, Kafr El-Sheikh, Damietta, Beni Suef, Minya, Assiut, and Sohag.

 

It explained that these committees seized 104 illegal entities practicing the activity of selling Hajj and Umrah programs in violation of the Egyptian Umrah Portal Law and the Hajj Regulation Law, in addition to that many advertisements were monitored on pages Social networking sites reported organizing Umrah and Hajj programs in violation of the provisions of the law, and it was found that these entities defraud citizens, collect huge sums of money, and provide substandard services.

 

The members of these committees are inspectors. The Ministry decided to take legal measures in this regard, as the necessary arrest reports were drawn up against them and registered with the relevant police departments to be presented to the Public Prosecution to take its action towards imposing the legally prescribed penalties on the owners of those entities.

 

 The Tourism and Antiquities Police Sector at the Ministry of Interior was also notified of the decisions issued to close the headquarters of the seized illegal entities in order to take the necessary action regarding them. Judicial rulings have been issued fining violators huge sums of money, and the competent tax authority at the Ministry of Finance has also been notified of the names and addresses of the seized entities and the names of their owners. To take its affairs into account by holding them tax accountable for their practice of working in tourism activity during the previous period, out of concern for the rights of the state.

 

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities calls on people not to be led by tourism programs organized by such entities. Illegitimate, and relying on various tourism programs organized by tourism companies licensed by the Ministry, which can be referred to the Ministry to ensure its affiliation with it and the credibility of the programs it organizes before contracting with it, in order to ensure the safety and rights of all citizens and tourists and not to expose them to fraud, especially since this may expose them to The risk of falling victim to Saudi laws regarding violating visa conditions, as well as preserving the rights of licensed Egyptian tourism companies.
