Amman: The injustice inflicted on the Palestinian people requires us to take a more effective Arab position
Asaad bin Tariq Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Special Representative of the Sultanate of Oman, said – In his speech before the 33rd Arab Summit – "It is This summit is being held in exceptional circumstances, as the Arab nation is in need of preserving and developing its security, its surroundings, its strategic position, and its economic capabilities in order to become able to confront a world burdened with challenges and complexities that cannot be overcome, and to overcome them individually or even together, even with the minimum of consensus and cooperation based on the aspirations that unite us. And goals".
Asaad Al Said added: “The historical injustice inflicted on the Palestinian people requires us to take a more influential and effective Arab position that guarantees the Palestinian people the right to self-determination, attaining comprehensive international recognition of the Palestinian state, and securing the desired two-state solution as stipulated in the United Nations resolutions, the Arab Peace Initiative, and the rules of law.” Without this, our region will not enjoy the permanent stability and sustainable prosperity that the people of the region and the entire world long for.”
Asaad Al Said continued: “Based on the historical and moral responsibility that unites us, we appeal to the international community to move immediately in this direction and practice the actual application of the standards of international law to achieve and establish justice for the Palestinian people and ensure security and stability for all.”
He continued: “We stress the importance of respecting the policy of good neighborliness and the sovereignty of states over their territories and not interfering in their internal affairs, and preserving the right of peoples to live together in dignity and independence, and as long as we seek justice, we are confident that we will never be let down, with God’s help.”< /span>
The Arab Summit in Bahrain
It is worth noting that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, headed yesterday, Wednesday, to the Kingdom of Bahrain to participate in the thirty-third session of the League of Arab States Council at the summit level, which is being held in the city of Manama at the Sakhir Palace.
The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, Counselor Dr. Ahmed Fahmy said that the President’s participation in the summit comes within the framework of Egypt’s keenness to coordinate with the Arab brothers and unify positions and ranks, in light of the critical stage that the Arab region is going through, and the great challenges it faces at various levels. span>
The official spokesman added that the summit will discuss in detail the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip, and efforts to resolve the current crisis to spare the blood of our Palestinian brothers and protect the Strip from the humanitarian tragedy to which it is exposed, which is currently worsening in light of the Israeli military operation in the Palestinian Rafah, which calls for a clear position rejecting this. Action from the international community.
The summit will also address the situation in a number of sisterly Arab countries, and how to restore stability in the region in the midst of the major crises it is exposed to, especially in light of the successive changes at the international and regional levels, in addition to following up on joint Arab action efforts to support the path of development for the benefit of all Arab peoples.
The spokesman confirmed that President Sisi will hold a number of bilateral meetings with his fellow Arab leaders on the sidelines of the summit, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation and joint coordination mechanisms.
