Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner blasts media for continuing to talk about his remark that some deemed anti-Semitic… with the star apologizing but complaining that ‘It’s gotten more attention AFTER I cleared it up’

A day after he attempted to clarify remarks some deemed anti-Semitic, New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner seems surprised that they’ve continued to be talked about in the media.

Gardner appeared on a live stream with YouTuber Adin Ross, who is Jewish. On that stream, the cornerback says, ‘Imma be honest, like no funny weird s**t, y’all run the world.’

After receiving backlash, Gardner apologized saying in a Twitter post, ‘I love all people. While my intentions were positive, I just learned that people use those exact words I shared for hate towards Jewish people.’

‘That is not what I am about and I appreciate those who took the time to educate me on that fact.’

But one day after issuing that apology, Gardner took to Twitter again – seemingly surprised that there were still discussions about that comment.

‘We really live in a world where if you clear something up, media outlets try to keep it from dying down and/or blow it up even more lol,’ the cornerback posted.

‘It’s gotten more attention AFTER I cleared it up yesterday which is weird & I wasn’t forced to post anything; it was on my heart to do so.’

Comments under Gardner’s most recent post featured people supporting him. But others said that they had only heard of his comments because he posted the apology in the first place.

It should be noted that Ross did not appear to have a negative reaction to the comment at the time – and even laughed alongside the others in the room that were on the stream.

After drawing those laughs, the NFL star added: ‘They got so much motion throughout the whole world. Y’all gotta see how they be walking in the airport.’

Some of the backlash encouraged Gardner to be cancelled, calling him an anti-Semite, and other similar negative reactions.
