The Supreme Council for Graduate Studies and Research holds its regular meeting

 The Supreme Council for Graduate Studies and Research held its periodic meeting, headed by Dr. Mustafa Refaat, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities, in the presence of a number of university presidents and council members who are vice presidents of universities for graduate studies and research, at the headquarters of Ain Shams University.

 

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Mustafa Rifaat congratulated the Council members on the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan, the anniversary of the victories of the 10th of Ramadan, International Women’s Day, and Mother’s Day, expressing his thanks. To the Ain Shams University family for hosting the meeting of the Supreme Council for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs.

Dr. Mustafa Refaat also congratulated Dr. Hatem Amin, Vice President of Tanta University for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs, and Dr. Gamal Gamal Badr, Acting Vice President President of Assiut University for Graduate Studies and Research, wishing them every success and success, and their university every progress and prosperity.

The Council discussed a number of topics, including adopting a proposal for mechanisms and procedures to implement the recommendations of the committee formed to examine the challenges facing scientific research and publishing in Egyptian universities. As well as following up on the issue of uploading research on the green transition and sustainable development in university colleges and institutes on the relevant platform in this regard at the Supreme Council of Universities www.reposd.scu.eg, as well as following up on the issue of inventorying and registering the scientific equipment present in university colleges and institutes to maximize the benefit from scientific equipment in Egyptian government universities in Framework for developing the website of the National Bank for Scientific Laboratories and Instruments Unit www.nbsle.scu.eg.

The Council agreed to form committees to study and prepare reports on the efforts of universities, and to maximize their benefit regarding the following assignments: 

Egypt joined the BRICS as of January 2024 and requested the development of a solid vision and plan on how to deal with the BRICS countries.  An inventory of everything that universities have done to serve the people of Gaza since the outbreak of the crisis until now (injured people, treatment, education). Finding methods for manufacturing various traffic signs with local materials to limit imports and save foreign exchange.

The council was informed of the Beni Suef University Council’s approval of joint cooperation between Beni Suef University and the Water Excellence Center project at the American University in Cairo, in order to develop teaching practices. Modern and effective, and included in the competencies presented by the University’s Human Capacity Development Center (teaching competency), and considered among the courses scheduled for promotion in various academic degrees for faculty members and their assistants at the university.
