Barcelona defender Inigo Martinez is filmed getting out of his car to confront a young fan as he points his finger at him… after the fuming star ‘accused the child of insulting him’

Barcelona defender Inigo Martinez has been filmed getting into an angry spat with a young football supporter in the middle of the road.

The 32-year-old was driving his black Range Rover when he pulled over and stepped onto the street to confront the child, as captured in footage shared on X (formerly Twitter).

The centre-back, dressed in a white t-shirt and shorts, walked up to the young fan, and they came together, before the Barcelona player unleashed an angry rant, raising his voice and pointing in frustration following the young person’s actions.

According to The Sun, Martinez reportedly said: ‘This is the last time you call me a fool or insult me, the last time you and your friend insult me.’

It is unclear what sparked the incident, but there did not appear to be any physical contact during the brief interaction, which lasted around 20 seconds, before the hooded boy was led away and Martinez returned to his car.

Online reports suggested that the young boy had previously been involved in several altercations with Barcelona fans, and was reportedly seen wearing a Real Madrid kit during the presentation of Gavi.

Spanish international defender Martinez came through the youth system at Real Sociedad, before becoming a senior pro for the team until 2018.

In that year, he moved to Athletic Bilbao, playing five years there before his contract expired, and he transferred to Barcelona as a free agent, penning a two-year deal.

He had played 19 games for the Catalan giants to date, starting in their 1-0 win over Las Palmas on Saturday night.

As the national league takes a break this coming weekend for the Spanish Cup final, Barcelona’s next game is their away Champions League quarter-final tie against PSG on April 10.
