Star to be dumped as Knights shake-up continues

Newcastle looks poised for another halves shake-up after losing a third game in four weeks to start the season.

SEN Sydney radio host Jimmy Smith reports the Knights will recall Jackson Hastings to the side at the expense of Tyson Gamble for Friday’s round five clash with St George Illawarra.

Hastings was axed after a round two one-point loss to North Queensland, with recruit Jack Cogger brought in at halfback.

The Knights beat the Storm with Gamble and Cogger in the halves, but were disappointing in a 20-12 loss to the Warriors in Auckland on Sunday.

And while it was Cogger who struggled with his kicking throughout the contest – failing to put any pressure on the Warriors – it appears coach Adam O’Brien will pick a third different halves pairing in five weeks to start the year.

All round five teams will be confirmed at 4pm.
