An earthquake of magnitude 6 strikes Japan

TOKYO, April 4 (WAM) – An earthquake measuring 6 on the Richter scale struck today off the coast of Fukushima.

The Japanese Meteorological Agency stated that the epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of 40 kilometers from the sea surface, and no threat of a tsunami was announced. The tremors were felt in 19 Japanese cities, including Tokyo, and there is no information about casualties or destruction.
It is noteworthy that Taiwan was hit yesterday by its strongest earthquake in 25 years, which killed at least 9 people, injured more than 800 others, damaged dozens of buildings, and prompted the authorities to issue tsunami warnings.
