Distraught star's injury caps off dire night for Broncos

The Melbourne Storm have held off a fast-finishing Broncos side to take a 34-32 victory at home on Thursday night, as Brisbane’s night was furthered dampened by an injury to skipper Adam Reynolds.

Reynolds went down on the stroke of halftime with a suspected lower hamstring strain.

The veteran looked visibly upset in the sheds during the half-time break before he was ruled out of the second half in Melbourne.

It came as the Storm ran home after trailing by 16-18 at half time, with the lead changing hands multiple times in the dying minutes.

Jahrome Hughes scored a crucial try to put the Storm in front with five minutes left to play.

Nine’s Danika Mason provided an update on the Broncos skipper during the main break.

“The medical staff expect it’s a strain to his lower hamstring. So, that is the initial diagnosis at this stage but we do know he’s been struggling with his knee for the last few weeks,” she said.
