The Minister of Higher Education confirms Egypt’s keenness to strengthen bilateral relations with Lithuania in the field of higher education

Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, received Mr. Arturas Gailiunas, Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania in Cairo. At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Ayman Ashour stressed the importance of relations between Egypt and Lithuania, and Egypt’s keenness To enhance cooperation with Lithuania in the field of higher education and scientific research.

 

The Minister pointed out Egypt’s interest in developing the higher education and scientific research system, in line with the requirements of the times and the needs of the labor market, stressing The Ministry was keen to consolidate relations with various countries, including Lithuania.

 

During the meeting, Dr. Ayman Ashour reviewed the development of infrastructure in Egypt during recent years, pointing to the development projects that It contributed to creating a suitable environment for investment in Egypt and attracting many local and international investments, embodied in the establishment of a number of international university branches, especially in the New Administrative Capital. As one of the huge development projects.

 

In this context, the meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation between Egypt and Lithuania in the fields of higher education and scientific research, especially in the fields of (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).

 

Opportunities for cooperation in the field of digital education and the exchange of experiences in the field of using technology in education were also discussed, and the two sides stressed the importance of exchanging students and researchers between the two countries and exchanging experiences in the field of education. Higher education and scientific research, and increasing opportunities for cooperation between Egyptian and Lithuanian universities.

 

The two sides discussed ways of cooperation between Lithuanian universities and new technological universities, as the minister indicated that there are 10 new technological universities, distributed In the various governorates of the Republic, it offers study programs in various fields, such as (information technology, engineering, manufacturing, energy, and agriculture); The new technological universities aim to enhance cooperation between universities and industrial institutions, and develop curricula to keep pace with the latest technological developments.

 

For his part, Mr. Arturas Gailiunas expressed Lithuania’s desire to enhance cooperation. with Egypt in the fields of higher education and scientific research, praising the progress achieved by Egypt in this field.

 

At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides agreed to continue coordination and cooperation in the educational and research fields, and to exchange Scientific visits between Egyptian and Lithuanian universities.
