Aurélie Dupont victim of “filth” at the Opera which could have ended badly…

Former star dancer, Aurélie Dupont recounted the worst blow she suffered during her career. A “dirt” of which she keeps an intact memory and which could have ended very badly…

She is one of the most famous star dancers in France. Aurélie Dupont rose to fame at the end of the 90s when she was only 25 years old. A career tinged with success in an ultra-competitive environment. One day, she was the victim of a bad move which was intended to harm her and which could have ended badly…

Aurélie Dupont: the “filth” of which she was a victim (and which could have cost her her career)

Aurélie Dupont remembers this time when she found her tights in a pitiful state. A “dirt” that she remembered on the show A Sunday in the countryside by Frédéric Lopez, broadcast this March 31 on France 2. We were doing a show at the Opéra Comique. Time to go to the bathroom, I come back, I want to put on my tights and my tights are torn. I had a spare pair of tights so I put them on. I jump in my slippers because I’m wasting time and then I start to stress a little. And there, I feel that I have something in my shoe that hurts me. I took it off, I shook my tip and there I had two little nails.”

Who was the author of this plot to bring down the star of the Opera? She will never know. “It’s the only thing I got. And I didn’t try to find out who it was.”she declared in front of Eddy de Pretto and Sandrine Quétier.

Aurélie Dupont: why she “panicked” at the start of her career

An episode which did not get the better of the career of the woman who would later become dance director of the Opera ballet. Indeed, Aurélie Dupont has always demonstrated “tenacity” and never gave up on her dreams. “To be tenacious is to never give up, I think, she confided to RTL this Wednesday, April 3. These are the people who persist, who sign, who resist. That’s tenacity for me. It’s about holding on at all costs, whatever happens, no matter what’s on the road.”

When she became a principal dancer at the age of 25, Aurélie Dupont initially panicked. “I thought it was too early”she confided to Vanity Fair. But ultimately she didn’t regret taking the plunge! She then retired as a principal dancer in 2015. At 42, she had no choice but to comply with the regulations that set the limit at that age, but later became a ballet master. On April 3, she released her first book Don’t forget why you dancepublished by the editions Albin Michelin which she traces her life and career.
