Kiss sold the rights to their music and branding

Swedish music company Pophouse Entertainment has acquired the rights to distribute the music of retired rock band KISS, as well as use the brand and intellectual property. The approximate amount of the deal, according to the BBC, was three hundred million dollars.

Pophouse Entertainment said it will continue to build on the KISS legacy, including through the so-called “digital avatars“The company will be able to create new content using young versions of musicians generated by artificial intelligence.

“We will preserve and enrich the artists’ legacy by breathing new life into their characters and personalities, while leveraging and enhancing the visual world of KISS,” said Per Sundin, CEO of Pophouse Entertainment.

The band’s musicians reportedly not only do not object to the use of their digital avatars in the future, but also support this idea. “Our collaboration with Pophouse is driven by the desire to forever resonate with various aspects of world culture. This partnership is not just a chapter, it is an eternal symphony of the immortality of rock and roll,” – noted Paul Stanley, lead vocalist of KISS.

The hard rock band KISS was founded in 1973 in the USA by vocalists Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons. The calling card of the group was their brightly painted faces and outrageous behavior. Especially in the 1980s, the group was popular among rock music fans in the former USSR. In 2023, after almost 50 years of history, the musicians played their last concert.
