Paris Marathon 2024: the route "very slightly modified" due to the flooding of the Seine
The route of the Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris 2024, which will take place on Sunday April 7, will be “very slightly modified” due to the flooding of the Seine, the organizers of the event indicated in a press release on Friday April 5.
The route is modified at the Parc Rives de Seine, from the Henri IV tunnel to the Tuileries tunnel, which has been made inaccessible. The passage of competitors will therefore be on the high platforms instead of the low platforms, after the 25th kilometer and up to the 28th, at Place dela Concorde. This decision was taken in consultation with the City of Paris and the Paris Police Prefecture, explain the organizers.
The organizers specify that “the new route will not differ from the route initially planned”. Officials of the French Athletics Federation (FFA) “had in fact approved this route for several years already in the event of a flood of the Seine”. 54,000 participants are expected this Sunday.
