16 countries in the first edition of "Asian Academy Championship" For golf in Al Ain
Abu Dhabi, 7 April / WAM / The Emirates Golf Federation announced the participation of 59 male and female players, representing 16 countries, in the first edition of the Asian Academy of Emerging Talent Golf Championships series, which is sponsored by Optimas and includes 25 events on the calendar of the current season 2024, in various… Asia and Pacific countries.
Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club will host the first edition from April 11 to 14, with the opening round of the series.
The series, which was announced in partnership between the Emirates Golf Federation and the Asian Golf Confederation, aims to provide more opportunities for emerging talents among amateur players in the age groups from 13 to 23 years, for both Asian and African countries, without costing the players the burden of travel, provided that it is held. Its tours are in accordance with the highest international standards.
Among the participating countries are 5 Arab countries: Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, and the Sultanate of Oman, in addition to the UAE.
The UAE is represented in this tournament by 12 male and female players, Rashid Al Emadi, Rashid Al Jasmi, Sultan Al Jasmi, Mohammed Skaik, Rayan Ahmed, Marwan Al Emadi, Abdullah Salmeen, Thomas Nesbitt, Neil Sherratt, and female players Lara Al Shayeb, Asiya Saleem, and Hana Al Aan.
Major General “M” Abdullah Al Hashemi, Vice President of the Golf Federation, on his behalf and on behalf of His Excellency Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi, President of the Federation, and members of the Federation’s Board of Directors, welcomed the participating countries in this new event, expressing his happiness in working with the Asian Golf Academy and the Asia Pacific Federation.
He stressed that the tournament represents a starting point for these talents, and aims to provide opportunities to develop talents across the countries of the region, by launching a new series of events, covering multiple age groups of talents searching for real opportunities in both Asia and Africa.
