The Minister of Education witnesses an educational symposium for student unions nationwide under the title: "Sinai in the eyes of its people"

Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, witnessed today, Sunday, an educational symposium held by the Central Administration of Public Education in cooperation with the General Union of Republic School Students on the occasion of the anniversary of the Liberation of Sinai, under the title “Sinai in the Eyes of Its Children,” in the presence of the military and strategic analyst. Major General Dr. Samir Farag, who lectured to the student unions about the role of the Egyptians in liberating Sinai and the return and development of this dear and precious part of the homeland.

 

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Reda Hegazy thanked and appreciated Major General Dr. Samir Faraj for his presence today and answering the invitation, praising his strategic expertise and efforts in serving the nation.

 

The Minister stressed interest in building the Egyptian human being, which is a strategic goal for the Ministry, so the Ministry prepared the strategic plan (2024/2029) that ensures unifying education policies, achieving availability, quality, sustainability and lifelong learning, noting that the Ministry includes 25.5 million students. Therefore, the ministry’s future needs had to be determined.

 

Dr. Reda Hegazy also stressed the Ministry’s keenness on the interest of students and achieving the joy of learning and producing knowledge, which requires a distinguished teacher, an appropriate school environment, and school programs and activities that help the emergence of students’ talents and creativity. 

 

Dr. Reda Hegazy stressed the importance of arming the next generation with the skills and abilities necessary to build a strong personality capable of taking responsibility, initiative, perseverance, creativity, and creating opportunities, stressing that the Ministry of Education is working to achieve this in parallel with developing the educational system and paying attention to emotional and spiritual values. 

 

As part of the Ministry’s efforts to form awareness among students, the Minister said that the school participates in socialization, and there must be an evaluation of the personal aspects of students, and the participation of parents in this, in addition to implementing a sports, cultural and artistic day, discovering and nurturing talents, and celebrating national holidays and events. In all curricular and extracurricular activities, in addition to teaching the book on values ​​and respect for others, the subject (National Awareness) will also be taught to secondary school students through the developed system. 

 

The Minister spoke about a successful model, which is the Schools of Excellence for Science and Technology (STEM), whose students prepare research projects on the challenges facing the Egyptian state. Likewise, students from the fourth grade of primary school until the second grade of secondary school prepare research projects, which is a subject that is not added. For the group, but it aims to prepare research projects on many topics that include the challenges facing the Egyptian state.

 

During his speech at the symposium, Major General Samir Faraj pointed out the focus of countries since the 20th century on caring for the upbringing of youth and the future generation, expressing his happiness with the new thinking of the Ministry of Education and its development of education in line with the development of the times to prepare a distinguished generation useful to its country, capable of advancing its society.

 

Major General Samir Farag reviewed, through a presentation, the status of Sinai between the past, present and future, and that Sinai throughout the ages has been coveted by colonial powers, since the Hyksos, then the Tatars, most recently Israel during the 1967 war, then terrorism, and then the tensions occurring today on the eastern borders of Egypt due to the war. On the Gaza Strip.

 

Major General Dr. Samir Farag reviewed Egypt’s great status and the role of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in preserving and developing the land of Sinai, explaining that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi made huge efforts to preserve Sinai and bring development to it through many national development, urban and agricultural projects, where the leadership believes Political development is the best way to protect the land.

 

Major General Dr. Samir Farag stressed that Egypt is the heart of the world and the gateway to the African continent, so the ports of (Sokhna, Al-Arish, Port Said, and Alexandria) were established to serve as a regional center for container trade, stressing that protecting Sinai is through development, noting that it is through container trade. Egypt has achieved distinction in its position.

 

Major General Samir Farag also pointed out that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi placed the development of Sinai at the top of the state’s priorities, and from this standpoint, Sinai was reconstructed and developed, and five new tunnels crossing Sinai were constructed by the hands of Egyptian engineers, adding that Lake Bardawil in North Sinai is considered one of the five best lakes in world in fish production, thanks to the state’s efforts in dredging and disinfecting lakes, adding that an airport has also been established in Bardawil through which fish can be exported.

 

Major General Dr. Samir Farag added that three cement factories were established in Sinai, from which they are exported to various countries of the world, as well as marble factories for export and self-sufficiency. Also, 400,000 acres were cultivated in Sinai and the largest water station of its kind in the Middle East was established on the coast of the city of Arish. In conjunction with the operation of water stations spread throughout Central and South Sinai, the establishment of 6 new cities and the establishment of a number of universities, in addition to the establishment of 11 development complexes in North Sinai to settle Bedouins, and the establishment and development of 57 schools at various educational levels.
