Inflation declined in Egypt last March

CAIRO, April 8, 2017 (WAM) – Data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics in Egypt showed today that the annual inflation rate for consumer prices in urban areas fell to 33.3% in March from 35.7% in February.

According to the agency’s data, the decline in inflation rates in March was due to a decrease in the prices of the cereals and bread group by -0.3%, the vegetables group by -3.5%, the personal effects group by -4.1%, and an increase in the prices of the meat and poultry group by 2.3%, and the fish and seafood group by 2.3%. 0.7%.

The dairy, cheese and eggs group also increased by 1.6%, the fruit group by 0.8%, the sugar and sugary foods group by 1.1%, the coffee, tea and cocoa group by 1.3%, the ready-made clothing group by 1.1%, the shoes group by 1.9%, and the actual housing rent group by 1.9%. 0.8%. As for the group of electricity, gas and other fuel materials, it recorded an increase of 0.2%.

The Central Bureau of Statistics indicated a decrease in the household appliances group by (1.6%), the medical products, devices and equipment group by (2.6%), the outpatient services group by (1.4%), the hospital services group by (1.5%), and the vehicle purchases group by (1.5%). (2.4%), transportation services group by (3.6%), postal services group by (5.7%), organized tourist trips group by (6.2%).
