Russian singer Evgeny Kungurov died in Moscow

Russian singer, Honored Artist of Russia Evgeny Kungurov died at the age of 41. Russian media specializing in operational chronicles report that he could have committed suicide. The body was discovered in the performer’s apartment on Zoologicheskaya Street near the center of Moscow, conveys MK.

Kungurov is a baritone, soloist of the Kaliningrad Musical Theatre, participant in Russian reality shows and host of the “Romance of Romance” program on the Kultura TV channel. He graduated from the Moscow Conservatory, performed in the Russian National Orchestra and the Exemplary Orchestra of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In his solo career, he performed fragments of operas, Soviet pop songs, folk songs and romances.

In 2014, Kungurov spoke in Moscow at a rally and concert on Red Square in honor of Russia’s annexation of Crimea. The song “Sevastopol Waltz” was performed before the appearance of Russian President Vladimir Putin. After this, he was awarded the titles of Honored Artist of the Chechen Republic and the Republic of Ingushetia.

In 2018, in Sevastopol, Kungurov opened with his performance the celebration of the anniversary of the annexation, which Putin attended.
