"Emirates Publishers Association" The UAE’s experience in the children’s book publishing sector is showcased at an exhibition "Bologna Children’s Book 2024"

Sharjah, April 9 / WAM / The Emirates Publishers Association is participating in the “Bologna Children’s Book Fair” 2024, which is being hosted by the Italian city of Bologna from April 8 to 11, as a continuation of the efforts of Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, the founder and honorary president of the association, which is directed to support the publishing industry. The exhibition is considered a pivotal global event in the book industry for children and promoting the cultural and cognitive development of children through the new projects and initiatives it presents.

Dr. Abdullah Al Sharhan, a member of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Publishers Association, said: “The Bologna Children’s Book Fair provides a rich platform for Emirati publishers to learn about the latest releases and innovations in the sector from around the world and to benefit from them in developing content directed to children and stimulating their passion for reading, in addition to being an ideal opportunity.” They have the opportunity to celebrate the Emirati and Arab experiences in this field, seize opportunities for cooperation with international publishers, and enter new markets, especially in the field of exchanging translation rights, which contributes to spreading Emirati culture and expanding the base of the Arab creative product around the world.”

He expressed his thanks to Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi, who directed the association’s path and placed it on the international publishing map and provided the opportunity for the Emirati publisher to be part of the global publishing scene.

The association displays on the shelves of its pavilion at the exhibition the latest publications of its members and a variety of books equipped with contact information with its publishers in order to enable the book makers participating in the exhibition and those interested in Arabic literature to communicate with those houses and conclude deals to purchase book rights remotely to contribute to enhancing their work and supporting the growth of the children’s book industry.
