More than 2.5 million visitors to the landmarks of the historic city of Jeddah during the holy month of Ramadan

The Historic Jeddah Program announced the success of the plan to raise the level of services in facilities management and the success of the crowd management plan in the Historic Jeddah area, with the attendance of more than 2.5 million visitors during the holy month of Ramadan.

 The Facilities Department of the Historic Jeddah Program operates in an area extending over 2.5 square kilometers in the region, and its workforce is estimated at more than 830 employees, and the number of their working hours during the blessed month of Ramadan reached More than 250 thousand hours, more than 600 cleaning equipment and tools were used, while the amount of environmentally friendly chemicals used amounted to more than 16 thousand liters.

 In commitment to the highest public health standards, the facilities management maintained the level of Cleanliness and services in public restrooms in the region, which have an average use rate of more than 5,000 users per day, with water consumption remaining within balanced rates. As part of the program’s efforts to achieve sustainability and reduce environmental impact, more than 1,900 tons of waste and more than 70 tons of cardboard boxes were collected and processed, with a total equivalent to more than 380,000 bags of waste, while the number of waste transfer operations to the landfill reached more than 550 operations.

 

 For its part, and in an effort to manage the crowds to enhance the visitors’ experience, more than 1,000 security men participated in protecting security in the area, with the presence of 8 rapid intervention teams, in addition to 6 ambulances for cases. Medical services, while 350 organizers managed crowd movement in 14 locations in the region, and 70 golf carts participated in transporting visitors to and from parking lots.

 

 This comes as part of the program’s efforts to preserve On the cultural and architectural heritage of the region, and developing its living space to be an attractive center for business and cultural projects, and a destination for entrepreneurs, through implementing a number of important projects within the general plan of the Historic Jeddah Revival Project, and supervising the implementation of works to improve the region’s infrastructure and restore and rehabilitate its buildings.
