Place Du Carrousel ready for testing tempo in Queen Elizabeth Stakes

Australian Cup runner-up Pride Of Jenni, the $3.90 second pick in betting, is likely to open big gaps in the field with her free-running style designed to run her rivals into the ground.

“There has been good money for Pride Of Jenni after the draw because punters know what she is going to do,” TAB’s Tim Ryan said. “She is $4.50 to $3.90, while Via Sistina is getting out a bit because of that money. They are the two punters are focussing on at the moment.”

The Queen Elizabeth will see the Melbourne and Sydney form merge, with Australian Cup winner Cascadian returning to where he has won a Doncaster and All Aged Stakes.

Two-time Doncaster winner Mr Brightside, which was a slightly disappointing fifth in the Australian Cup a fortnight ago, drew the outside barrier, but getting back to Randwick is a bonus according to his co-trainer, Ben Hayes.

“On this track, I think riding him cold isn’t bad from that gate,” Hayes said. “He won a Doncaster from a wide draw, and I’m hoping there’s a bit of give in the track on Saturday.

“He just felt the ground a little bit in the Australian Cup so with a bit of give in the track, expect a big improvement from him.”

The final fields for the other three group 1 races were released on Tuesday, along with Championships races – the Arrowfield Sprint and Percy Sykes Stakes.

Pre-post Sydney Cup favourite More Felons injured a tendon on Tuesday morning and will miss the two-mile staying test, with Chairman’s Handicap winner Circle Of Fire taking over as the punters elect.

The return clash of Orchestral, Tutta La Vita and Zardozi will be a highlight in the Australian Oaks on Saturday, while Zougotcha is the $3.80 favourite as she attempts to complete the Coolmore Classic-Queen Of Turf double.
