Several people were injured by gunfire in Philadelphia

Philadelphia police said three people were wounded in a shooting at the city’s celebration of the end of Ramadan. According to officials, about 30 shots were fired.

Local media reported that several people were wounded by gunfire in East Philadelphia on Wednesday afternoon.

A 22-year-old man was shot in the stomach. The other wounded man was a teenager who arrived at a nearby clinic with bullet wounds to both arms.

Police detained three men, one woman and a 15-year-old boy who was wounded by a police officer. Five firearms were seized by police at the scene.

A woman who took part in the street celebration told reporters about the chaos of the shooting and the horror that gripped her while searching for her family. “It’s sad that in Philadelphia you can’t even celebrate on the street without getting shot,” she said.
