17 people were killed and 41 injured in a traffic accident in Pakistan

KARACHI, April 11, 2017 (WAM) – 17 people were killed and 41 others were injured in a truck accident that occurred last night in southwestern Pakistan, which was carrying people heading to a religious shrine on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.

The accident occurred at approximately 10 pm local time in Habb district in the province of Balochistan.

The French news agency quoted an official in the region, Mounir Ahmed, as saying that the truck was traveling at high speed and went out of the driver’s control at a bend and fell into a valley in a mountainous area as it approached the religious site.
