Minister of Finance: Allocating 495.6 billion for health in next year’s budget

 

Dr. Mohamed Maait, Minister of Finance, confirmed that, in implementation of the presidential directives to increase financial allocations for health and education to increase investment in human development, the state, although it bears many of the effects of global and regional crises, will focus on human development. ,

 

During the next six years, starting from the new fiscal year 2024/2025, through a commitment to enhancing spending on health, comprehensive health insurance, and developing education; To complete the strategy of building the Egyptian human being, as reflected in raising the health sector allocations to 495.6 billion pounds in the next fiscal year’s budget, compared to 396.9 billion pounds in the current fiscal year with an annual growth rate of 24.9%, and raising the education sector allocations to 858.

 

 

The Minister added that we are continuing to work to allocate more resources to spend on health and education during the implementation of the upcoming budgets to develop all elements of the health and education systems, explaining that we We are keen to provide all requirements for the sustainability of the development of the health system. In order to ensure the provision of quality health services, the necessary financial funds have been provided to expand “health care” initiatives, provide medicines and medical supplies to hospitals, and increase support directed to health insurance programs, along with targeting the speed of gradual expansion in extending the umbrella of comprehensive health insurance. In the governorates; As a major tool in reforming the health sector and realizing the dream of all Egyptians, to provide comprehensive and integrated health care for all members of the Egyptian family.

 

The Minister said, we are working to allocate more resources. To raise the efficiency of human cadres in health and university and pre-university education. The latest social package included allocating 15 billion pounds in additional increases for doctors, nurses, teachers and faculty members at universities, including: 8.1 billion pounds to approve an additional increase in the wages of teachers in pre-university education, ranging from 325 pounds. To 475 pounds, and 1.6 billion pounds to approve an additional increase for faculty members and their assistants in universities, institutes, and research centers, and 4.5 billion pounds to approve an additional increase for members of medical professions and nursing staff, ranging from 250 to 300 pounds in risk allowance for medical professions, and an increase of up to 100. % in night and overnight allowance.
