Minister of Higher Education: Educational and service projects that meet students’ needs and enhance the quality of higher education in Egypt

 

Within the framework of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s keenness to improve the educational system in Egypt, Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, opened and inspected a number of national projects in various Egyptian universities, during The past three months, including:

The opening of a number of educational and service projects at New Valley University at a cost of 2 billion pounds, including the building of the Faculty of Physical Education, which is being built on an area of ​​3,000 square meters and consists of a basement, a ground floor, and two additional floors. The building includes 6 auditoriums with a capacity of 150 students, and 10 teaching halls, in addition to administrative rooms.

The College of Agriculture building, which is built on an area of ​​5,600 square meters, consists of a ground floor and three recurring floors, and includes manufacturing units for agricultural products and administrative offices. And 18 teaching halls and 10 laboratories, in addition to the various production units attached to the project, such as (a dairy factory, central laboratories, and refrigerators for storing dates). Dr. Ayman Ashour also opened the College of Engineering building, which is built on an area of ​​5,500 square meters, and consists of a basement, ground floor, and two floors. Recurring, and includes 3 wings for departments (Civil Engineering – Architectural – Electrical – mechanical and mining), two conference halls, 4 auditoriums, 10 student laboratories, 4 drawing halls, 8 classrooms, computer laboratories, and a library.

The Minister of Higher Education also inaugurated the sports stadium complex project, which includes 7 outdoor stadiums, including bleachers, And all the sports services attached to it, and these stadiums include (2 multi-purpose courts, 2 volleyball courts, a basketball court, a five-a-side court, and a tennis court).

The foundation stone for the university land project was also laid. North of the city of Kharga, at kilometer 55 in the New Valley Governorate, which is the first of the presidential initiative “Alliance and Development”, allocating 1,000 acres to each university participating in the project for the purposes of scientific research, agricultural and technological experiments, and cultivation of strategic crops and medicinal and aromatic plants.

At a cost of one and a half billion. billion pounds. Dr. Ayman Ashour inspected a number of new facilities at Damanhour University, including: the construction site of the Faculty of Dentistry building in the Damanhour Educational Complex, which represents an important step towards improving medical education at the university. It consists of the Faculty of Dentistry building, and includes a ground floor, and 9 Upper floors, with an approximate area of ​​3200 m2, with (5) terraces with an area of ​​273 m2, (5) dental laboratories, with an area of ​​252 m2, (6) laboratories with an area of ​​138 m2, a simulator, with an area of ​​189.5 m2, and study halls, with an area of ​​72 m2. The cost is The total cost of the project is approximately 68 million pounds.

The College of Nursing building in the Damanhour Educational Complex. The building consists of a ground floor and 8 upper floors on an area of ​​700 square meters at a cost of 28 million pounds. The building contains laboratories equipped with devices to simulate reality.

The central laboratories building in the Damanhour Educational Complex, which consists of a ground floor and 8 repeated upper floors on an area of ​​1800 m2, at a cost of 65 million pounds. The building contains 48 laboratories, and the preparation rooms attached to them, as well as auditoriums with a capacity of 90 Or 60 students, in addition to electronic testing laboratories, a number of discussion halls, and service rooms, and the building serves all practical colleges at Damanhour University, and also serves the research process.

 

The site for the construction of a college building Medicine and the University Hospital in Al-Abadiya Educational Complex, which consists of 3 buildings (the College of Medicine building, the hospital building, and the annex). The general location. The College of Medicine building and the hospital building consist of a basement, ground floor, and 8 upper floors with an approximate area of ​​3200 square meters. The annex consists of a basement, ground floor, and 3 upper floors, with an approximate area of ​​1200 square meters, and the general location is a basement, and its design will begin immediately upon completion of the project. The total number of university hospital beds is 399 beds according to standard specifications, and the total cost of the project is (1275000000) one billion two hundred and seventy-five million EGP.

The College of Engineering in the Al-Abadiya Educational Complex consists of a ground floor and 8 upper floors on an area of ​​3600 m2 at a cost of 120 million pounds. The building contains 7 workshops, 7 terraces, 12 drawing classrooms, and administrative offices, in addition to… Classrooms and 35 laboratories, and the college includes departments (civil engineering, electrical engineering, architectural engineering, and mechanical engineering).

At a cost of one billion and 110 million pounds, the Minister of Higher Education inspects the construction and implementation works. The construction and implementation works at the Suez University branch in Abu Dis In South Sinai, where 100 acres were allocated in the city of Abu Dis from the South Sinai Governorate; To establish the university branch, within the framework of the Egyptian state’s efforts to develop the Sinai Peninsula region.

The university branch will include (17) colleges and an integrated medical complex, and the building and construction work for the colleges of the first stage, which includes the colleges of (science), is being completed. – Commerce – Arts – Education), noting that the building of each college consists of a ground floor and four upper floors, on an area of ​​5,000 square meters for the College of Science, and 3,500 square meters for each of the colleges (Commerce, Arts, and Education), at a total cost exceeding one billion and 110 billion. Millions of pounds for the first phase.

 

While the second phase for the university’s branch in South Sinai includes faculties (engineering, auditorium buildings, university housing, university administration, conference hall, library), and the phase includes The third (scientific colleges, medical sector colleges, medical complex), and the fourth phase includes (the Sports City buildings, an Olympic sports complex that includes playgrounds, an indoor hall, and a semi-Olympic swimming pool) to serve the people of South Sinai Governorate.

 

Dr. Ayman Ashour stressed that these projects come within the framework of the Ministry’s plan to develop the infrastructure of Egyptian universities and provide an attractive and stimulating educational environment. With the aim of raising the level of graduates so that they are qualified to compete in the local, regional and international labor market, in addition to paying attention to improving the quality of the educational process in a way that helps in obtaining graduates capable of supporting the state’s efforts in improving the national economy and developing society.

 

For his part, Dr. Adel Abdel Ghaffar, media advisor and official spokesman for the Ministry, explained that these projects will contribute to raising the efficiency of the educational process, enhancing scientific research, and attracting more students from inside and outside Egypt. They also represent an important step towards improving the educational system in Egypt, and achieving Egypt’s Vision 2030.
