3 players from Wadi Degla qualified for the semi-finals of the Blackball Squash Championship

3 players from Wadi Degla clubs qualified for the semi-finals of the “Blackball Open Squash” tournament – one of the golden tournaments – bringing the club closer to achieving the title and maintaining its leadership in the squash game locally and internationally.  

The world and Wadi Degla club champion, Ali Farag, booked the first ticket to the semi-finals of the Blackball Championship, after defeating Miguel Rodriguez with a score of (3-1) by points (11-7) (9 -11) (11-9) (11-6), and Al-Dajlawi Mazen Hisham advanced after defeating Youssef Ibrahim with a score of (3-2) by points (6-11) (11-9) (11-7) (1-11) (11-8).  

In the women’s competition, Wadi Degla player Nour Al-Tayeb was able to qualify for the semi-finals of the Black Ball Squash Championship after defeating Salma Hani with a score of (3-0) by points (11-9) (11-7) ( 11-6). The “Black Ball Open” tournament is Squash, one of the golden tournaments in the game of squash, and the tournament will be held during the period from 11 to 16 April of this month, with prize money amounting to 108.5 thousand dollars.

The Wadi Degla clubs have effectively contributed to the development of the game of squash in Egypt through Establishing the largest number of squash courts in the world, amounting to 82 courts in 9 different branches. It also established the largest academy in the world with more than 2,500 players, and the results of these efforts were reflected in the club team winning the General Squash League Championship for 6 consecutive seasons. Egypt won international championships, in addition to its players topping the international classification of the game.
