400 million dirhams sales of the Sharjah Ramadan Festival 2024

Sharjah, April 14 / WAM / The Sharjah Ramadan Festival 2024, which concluded its 34th session yesterday evening, recorded great success in stimulating the retail sector and commercial activity in the emirate’s markets, after providing its residents and visitors, over a period of 37 days, with exceptional shopping experiences, which included a group A wide range of centers, commercial markets and entertainment destinations in various cities and regions of Sharjah, and the festival’s promotions and major discounts were accompanied by programs and events that spread joy throughout the holy month and the days of Eid Al Fitr.

The festival, which is organized by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, achieved an increase in its sales volume for this season, with an increase that exceeded expectations, amounting to about 400 million dirhams, with a growth rate of 25% compared to 2023, as it attracted visitors and families from inside and outside the emirate, offering them discounts of 75% on goods. The festival contributed to strengthening Sharjah’s position as a leading destination for shopping, entertainment and tourism, attractive to various groups and nationalities.

During the days of Eid al-Fitr, the event witnessed additional momentum in major shopping centers and various participating destinations, as visitors flocked to them in large numbers to enjoy the entertainment and shopping programs in the Eid atmosphere, and to enter the draws for a package of valuable prizes and instant gifts.

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and major shopping malls contributed by providing shopping vouchers worth one million dirhams to shoppers, in addition to offering a wide range of destinations, hotels and distinctive tourist attractions lucrative offers within the festival.

His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadhi, Director General of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stressed the Chamber’s keenness to make all its efforts to make the festival a success, so that it continues its role as one of the most important commercial and entertainment events in the region within the shopping offers sponsored by the Chamber as part of its strategy to further stimulate and diversify the emirate’s economy and enhance innovative promotion practices. For brands, supporting the local business community and project owners, and enhancing cooperation between the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and various government and private agencies, keeping pace with the latest global trends aimed at improving shopping offers as ideal platforms for displaying new products and services to the public and providing communication opportunities between representatives of companies in the retail sector and the consumer community to reach an audience. Broader, in addition to the prominent role that such festivals and shopping offers contribute to promoting tourism and benefiting from all innovative visions that meet the aspirations of shoppers, highlight price competitiveness, product diversity, and enhance the shopping experience.

Abdulaziz Al Shamsi, Assistant Director General of the Communication and Business Sector at the Sharjah Chamber, said that the level of public interest and satisfaction of the centers and shops that participated in the festival in various regions of the emirate is an indication of the fruitful results achieved, which were clearly evident in the volume of sales that exceeded expectations, which motivates greater efforts. More efforts will be made to maintain the status of the event and enrich the opportunities it has to attract visitors and residents of the Emirate of Sharjah during the month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr every year, which is the time when the Sharjah Chamber is keen to ensure that the emirate is full of promotional offers that combine entertainment and heritage events with the promotion of economic activities related to the festival. Over the course of nearly three and a half decades, it has become a landmark and a prominent social and economic event in the region, as it represents an annual station to highlight Sharjah’s economic status and promote it as a distinctive tourist destination.

Ibrahim Rashid Al Jarwan, Director of the Economic Relations Department at the Sharjah Chamber and the general coordinator of the festival, pointed out that the success of the festival came as a result of cooperation between the chamber, strategic partners and main sponsors, as well as government agencies and the private sector, and thanks to the efforts made by participants from shops, local and international brands, and productive families, and the coordination that allowed the centers Commercial and markets provide diverse entertainment programs and activities rich in heritage events that entertained the festival’s visitors, adults and children, in various cities and regions of the emirate.

He stressed the Chamber’s keenness to sponsor and organize unforgettable shopping experiences for Sharjah residents and visitors during the various promotion seasons to consolidate the emirate’s position as one of the best global destinations, especially on occasions and holidays that are characterized by a spiritual atmosphere that has its own peculiarity in society.

Under the umbrella of the festival, there were promotional offers that attracted shoppers and facilitated the opportunity for them to purchase requirements for the Holy Month and Eid at competitive prices. The offers presented by the “Ramadan Nights” exhibition to its visitors at Expo Center Sharjah, which is considered one of the most important activities of “Ramadan Sharjah”, attracted a large crowd of shoppers and was distinguished by the activities of the Heritage Village and its various offers, in addition to a section dedicated to children’s toys. The exhibition’s discounts, which reached 75%, included a variety of items. The Freej Ramadan Market, which is one of the festival’s activities, included various promotions on local products and brands with the participation of project owners, productive families, and a number of shops.
