Conflict in the Middle East: Iran believes it has taken revenge and warns Israel

Cairo: Hani Kamal El-Din

Iran on Sunday April 14 called on Israel not to react militarily to its unprecedented attack launched on the night of Saturday to Sunday, and presented by the Islamic regime as a response to the strike that destroyed its consulate in Damascus on April 1. “The case can be considered closed”announced the Iranian mission to the UN in a message posted three hours after the start of its operation.

Far from being a message of appeasement, this declaration from Iran specifies that “If the Israeli regime made another mistake, Iran’s response would be considerably harsher”. Apart from the official Iranian media, no leader of the Islamic Republic personally spoke during the night to justify this first attack directly targeting Israel since the 1979 revolution in Iran.

The operation was carried out by the Revolutionary Guards, the ideological army of power, who launched a very large number of drones and missiles (more than 300 according to the Israeli army) towards military sites on the territory Israeli. This “military action by Iran” is presented as “a response to the aggression of the Zionist regime against our diplomatic premises in Damascus”, explained the Iranian mission to the UN. She was “carried out on the basis of Article 51 of the United Nations Charter relating to self-defense”justifies the country’s diplomacy.
