Austria confirms its continued long-term commitment to maintaining peace and security in Kosovo

Vienna, April 14 / WAM / Austria announced the deployment of the 50th unit of its armed forces. To join the international security force responsible for maintaining security in Kosovo, she confirmed her long-term commitment to peace and security in Kosovo.
Claudia Tanner, Austrian Minister of Defense, stressed the importance of international peacekeeping operations in times of global security threats, and her country’s continued commitment to international cooperation and peacekeeping. She said: “Our contribution to Kosovo shows that we are a reliable partner in international crisis management measures.”

Austria has participated in the international peacekeeping forces in Kosovo led by NATO since 1999, to ensure security, maintain public order and rebuild there.
