A 6.2 magnitude earthquake strikes Papua New Guinea

New Britain, April 15 / WAM / An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale struck the New Britain region in Papua New Guinea at dawn today.
The German Research Center for Geosciences reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was 79 kilometers below the surface of the Earth.

There were no immediate reports of human casualties or material damage as a result of the earthquake.
