For her 75th birthday, Pugacheva released a new single – and promises another

Russian singer Alla Pugacheva has released a new single about love, “I’m crying,” and promises another one. Today she turns 75 years old.

The words and music were written by singer Leonid Agutin. Tabloid The Voice Mag writesthat the composition was ready five years ago. Pugacheva planned to perform it at a concert dedicated to Agutin’s 50th birthday, but was unable to due to illness.

Concert director of the artist Elena Chuprakova announced “I’m crying” the day before and announced that another track would be released on the singer’s birthday.

After the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Pugacheva left Russia with her children and husband, TV presenter Maxim Galkin. Galkin publicly condemned the war. In the spring of 2022, he gave several concerts in Israel, part of the funds from which translated to funds helping Ukrainian refugees.

In September 2022, the Russian authorities recognized Galkin as a “foreign agent” – Pugacheva publicly spoke out in support of her husband, calling for her to be declared a “foreign agent” as well. A month later, it became known that Pugacheva’s songs were not broadcast on the radio stations of the Russian Media Group, writes “Kommersant”.

In December 2022, the BBC included Alla Pugacheva in its list of one hundred inspiring and influential women in the world.
