Indonesia calls for restraint after the Iranian attack on Israel
Indonesia expressed its deep concern about the escalating situation in the Middle East and urged Iran and Israel to exercise restraint in the wake of the missile attack launched by Iran on Israel on Saturday evening.
The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged – in A statement according to the Indonesian Antara News Agency – The United Nations Security Council must respond quickly to avoid escalation of the conflict and prevent its spread in the Middle East region.
The statement stated, “Indonesia urges the Security Council to act immediately to calm tensions and continue working.” In order to achieve lasting peace in the Middle East.
Indonesia also stressed that a just settlement of the Palestinian issue by achieving a two-state solution will be the key to maintaining regional stability.
