Parliamentarian: Implementing the second phase of comprehensive health insurance enhances the completion of health reform

Representative Amr Fahmy, a member of the Senate from the Mostaqbal Watan Party, said that comprehensive health insurance, since its launch in July 2019 in certain governorates, has provided many services that approach millions of medical services through its affiliated facilities, in addition to registering about millions of citizens through the strength of the system. To benefit from it and its various features and services, which contributed to creating a qualitative shift in developing the health sector and providing integrated health care at decent quality levels for all citizens throughout the Republic without discrimination.

 

 

Fahmy stressed that implementing the second phase of comprehensive health insurance is a continuation of the comprehensive health reform path in Egypt, and the fulfillment of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s dream of implementing comprehensive health coverage for all Egyptians, in addition to enhancing the expansion of the base. Benefiting citizens and providing them with the best medical services in accordance with the latest international standards, and providing comprehensive and integrated services for the entire family, in order to consolidate the concept of social justice in the villages and hamlets most in need, especially in the economic challenges resulting from global burdens.

 

The senator indicated that the political leadership is very keen to complete this national project that achieves the dream of integrated health care in all governorates, and that without the political will and President Sisi’s adoption of the largest health reform program in Egypt, it would not have happened, pointing out that  The state is racing against time to complete this dream through 6 stages ending in 2030.

Fahmy explained that implementing the second stage of the comprehensive health insurance project includes a number of axes, the most important of which are: “Health planning, preparing infrastructure and equipment, and registration.” Opening family medicine files, human resources and training, mechanization and digital transformation, awareness and media. Qualification for registration and accreditation, institutional transformation.”

The representative stressed that the implementation of the second phase of comprehensive health insurance is an extension of the health insurance system for all governorates of the Republic, and confirms the efforts made by the state to implement a strong and effective health system available to everyone at affordable prices. , which gives every citizen his right to health care.
