Tomorrow.. the start of the athletics competitions for people of determination in "Gulf Games for Youth"
Dubai, April 16 / WAM / The athletics competitions for people of determination at the first Gulf Youth Games, “UAE 2024”, will begin tomorrow, Wednesday, at the Dubai Police Officers Club, and will continue until April 19.
The UAE national team is represented by 26 male and female players of determination in track and field competitions.
The national team’s male and female players underwent a medical classification stage that was held over the course of yesterday and today.
Theban Al Muhairi, Secretary General of the National Paralympic Committee, visited the team’s players’ residence yesterday to check on their preparations and readiness to compete in the tournament’s competitions.
Al Muhairi expressed his confidence in the players’ ability to represent the UAE in this Gulf forum, which is being held for the first time in a manner befitting the status of UAE Paralympic sports, which has great achievements.
He stressed that the first Gulf Youth Games represent a golden opportunity for this promising generation to gain experience and integrate into the atmosphere of major Paralympic forums, to serve as a starting point towards future participations and preparation for moving forward in the path of achievements in sports for people of determination in the Emirates.
He pointed out that the youth team’s preparations to compete in this tournament went well, with the aim of raising the level of readiness to compete in the tournament and achieving the desired results.
