Explosions heard in Iran, US media report Israeli attacks

Washington: Israeli missiles hit a site in Iran, US newspaper ABC News reported on Friday, citing a US official.

Iran’s Fars news agency said explosions were heard near the airport in the country’s central city of Isfahan, but the reason was unknown.

“The cause of these sounds is still unknown and investigations continue until the exact details of the incident are determined,” the semi-official Fars news agency said.

Dubai-based airlines Emirates and FlyDubai began diverting around western Iran early on Friday. They offered no explanation, although local warnings to airmen suggested the airspace may have been closed.
