The Russian President’s envoy to the Middle East discusses with the Egyptian ambassador developments in the situation in the region

 The Russian Special Presidential Envoy to the Middle East and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov met with the Egyptian Ambassador to Moscow, Nazih El-Nagary, today, Thursday, and discussed the latest developments in the situation in the Middle East.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement. Bogdanov and Al-Najjari discussed in detail developments in the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, as well as the situation in Libya and Sudan, according to the Russian TASS news agency.

The two sides also reviewed ways to enhance Russian-Egyptian cooperation. In several areas, “with an emphasis on the importance of maintaining an active political dialogue.”

 

In a related context, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov met with the Egyptian ambassador, where they discussed ways to Strengthening cooperation within the framework of the BRICS group of countries and arms control issues.

 

The Russian Foreign Ministry said: “During Ryabkov and Al-Najjari’s discussions, the focus was mainly on ways to enhance cooperation within the BRICS in light of Russia’s presidency of the group during the year 2024.

 

The two sides also discussed, according to the statement, arms control issues in addition to “some other aspects of the current international agenda.”< /p>
