Jordan regrets the failure of the Security Council to adopt a resolution accepting the State of Palestine as a full member due to the American veto

Jordan expressed its deep regret at the failure of the Security Council to adopt a resolution accepting the State of Palestine as a full member of the United Nations as a result of the United States’ use of its veto power.

 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Affairs stated Jordanian expatriates said that the international community supports the two-state solution that Israel is undermining, which makes recognizing the Palestinian state a duty for the Security Council to prevent Israel from continuing to deprive the Palestinian people of their right to freedom and state.

 

The Ministry’s official spokesman, Ambassador Dr. Sufyan Al-Qudah, explained that Jordan calls on all countries to recognize the Palestinian state, as security and peace will not be achieved in the region without its embodiment on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
